I’ve painted the main body of the press black…finally. This took longer than I planned but now that it’s done I’m happy with how it turned out. I only painted the outside of the press main body. The inside of the main body I primed but did no masking of it or painting. Over spray can be seen on the inside of primer, sealer and paint. Later I will hand brush paint the inside. This process will give me better control of where I want the paint….spraying it at the same time as the outside would be a lot of risky work. The biggest risk would be an air hose touching the outside paint which would really ruin my day big time!!!! The inside won’t be seen that much do to all the press workings in there so brush painting it later is ideal. .
Once the outside paint has dried a while I’ll brush the inside then start the process of detailed gold pin stripping with a touch of red in some of the points of the stripping. I’ve also mounted the press on a set of temporary wheels to make it easier to move around the shop.. |
