The cleaning of parts has started......priming comes next. BUT before you spray anything a little bit more work needs done to keep primer and/or paint where it should be and not in areas which are moving or have a tight fit. On a printing press there are many areas like this and almost every piece will have some sort of masking required. Primer can add about 3-5mils, and paint will be anywhere from 5-50mils depending on what type you use. Detailed masking is required on printing press parts!!! Here's a good picture of some items I have masked up and now ready for primer.
A couple more pictures of a few items just after sandblasting.
